It’s been a crazy morning but I’m so glad I was able to stop in for Jaedyn’s [my godson] first hair cut!  It’s kind of crazy – this is a step into big boyness!  Stop it, J!
and yes, i am fully aware the term “big boyness” doesn’t exist.
Anyway, of course i brought my camera for this monumental happening.

No one likes to be sprayed.  Not even me.

Look at all that baby hair!Chop, chopping awaybaby curls <3I know this is out of focus but i don’t care. He’s such a sweetie.  Sharing his cookie =]Feelin’ fab!J, nina’s so proud of you!  You didn’t fuss one bit!

I’ve been debating on how to intro this because I don’t want to shame anyone’s way of living – to each their own.  so that’s not what this is.  I’m just shedding a little light on what’s going on in the Lawrence household.
See, I’m on this journey to living toxic free and eating clean.
It all started when I got sick in 2010 and was forced to become a vegetarian.  Really, that’s all it took.
I started reading book after book about vegetarianism leading into veganism leading into clean eating [because not all vegans/vegetarians eat clean!] leading into holistic eating leading into clean/holistic living all around and here I am almost three years later an entirely different person mentally, physically, emotionally and even spiritually.  I’ve grown a deep appreciation for all animals and the earth and I am constantly in awe of my creator.  How He made the earth and natural herbs to heal and cleans us without medication, how our bodies can take care of themselves when allowed to and so much more.  It’s just amazing.
It’s also a ton of experimenting, but thankfully, my husband’s super supportive.
Like when I went around the house reading every label and throwing out anything that had something unpronounceable….or when I threw out my caboodle full of name brand makeup and ordered all organic/vegan/non toxic/paraben free, etc., makeup because i realized just how toxic all my old stuff was….or when I said I wanted to make my own laundry detergent, my husband just says, “okay.  I trust you.”
It sounds crazy, I know.  I used to think so too, but hey, you don’t know what you don’t know.  But when you know, you know.  And then you have that obligation of making a change or doing nothing with the knowledge you’ve gained.

Anyhow, part of the experimenting is overwhelming but other parts are super fun.
Like today’s southwest bbq wrap.

Delish.  Seriously, so amazing and filling I wanted to share with you!

So here it is….

1/2 head of Romaine lettuce.  I used fresh, organic Romaine from my FF2U box that came last night!  If you don’t know about Farm Fresh to You, Check ’em out!
1 cup of corn
1 tomato chopped
1 avocado cubed [also came in my box last night]
1/4 red onion finely chopped
1/4 bunch of cilantro finely chopped
1 can of organic black beans
Stubb’s BBQ sauce to taste

Let’s get mixin’
Wash, chop and dry or spin lettuce.  [i use my Salad Chef to wash, chop and spin. took me a whole 5 min.]
Add corn, cilantro, beans and onions to lettuce and toss. [i stopped here and jarred half to preserve lettuce for a while.]
next add tomatoes, avocado and bbq sauce and gently toss.
*It’s important to not add tomatoes and avo with other ingredients because after too much tossing, tomatoes and avo become mashed*

Warm up a tortilla, stuff, roll and enjoy!

i jarred the left overs of the full mix for the next couple lunches.

If you’re a meat eater, add some organic, grass fed chicken. 😉

If you’re at all interested in learning more about this crazy lifestyle I try and lead or to find more recipes, i have a blog dedicated to that fun stuff.

I was so honored to capture this beautiful family.
I first met Miray in 6th or 7th grade [i think?] at church.  Thankful for social media, after college reconnected via Facebook and coincidentally found out we were getting married at the same venue a week apart!  Funny little world we live in.
Miray and Scott have since moved up north and been blessed with a sweet baby boy who just turned one!
Here are some photos from their family session celebrating Jake’s first year!

This is Jake’s face after touching the dry part of the grass.  love it!

Jake’s first bites of cake – my fave!

Scott + Miray,
I’m so glad it all worked out and we were able to get this session in.    Thanks again for giving me the honor of capturing your beautiful family!
Jake was a blast to be around – so fun and full of expression!
Don’t be a stranger to So Cal!

Getting ready to head off to a shoot and was just double checking my camera + equipment and Lacey did everything to be in front of the camera.  She’s such an attention hog it’s ridiculous sometimes, but today it was adorable.
I realized I hadn’t officially debuted her on my blog.  She’s all over my IG (<– follow me) so I thought it’s probably time.  It’ll be 10 months in three days since we’ve had her.  Where on earth did the time go?  Her and Lola get along so well now.  It only took five months.  Not kidding.  Lola was so used to being solo and she’s far over being a puppy then we bring in this little love bug below who is a little under a year at the time and FULL of energy.  Yeah, didn’t go well at first but we stuck it out and I’m so glad we did because now these two are buddies.
Lola is afraid of other dogs so when we walk and there’s a dog coming, Lacey blocks Lola.  Cutest thing.
Enough chatter, here’s my little sweetie – Lacey baby

Over and over again I fall more in love with my job and it is because of my clients.  Clients like Cirene and Bobby.   Two of the most sweetest,  thoughtful, passionate, fun-loving couples who are deeply, madly in love!  Their love is electrifying you can’t help but feel it when you’re in their presence.
They don’t just love each other that way though, they extend that love to all around them.  It was truly a blessing photographing their wedding.

Cirene rocked a killer  Vera Wang gown.  Killer.  And don’t even get me started on the Biltmore’s architecture.

I loved this!  The only people in Cirene’s room was her MUA, mom and dad.  It was so peaceful and relaxing!

Cirene and Bobby wrote their own vows.  LOVE .  There’s just nothing like it.Cirene and Bobby’s bridal party were just as fun as they are and I gotta give it to these guys.  They were SO cooperative the entire time!

Cirene and Bobby’s first date was at Syrup Desserts so we stopped by for a few shots since it was right around the corner from lofTSEVEN.
I just adore the story.

these two are just so dang cute!
